J. Michael Araiz, Chief Executive Officer
J. Michael Araiz has over 28 years experience in the trading and valuation of fixed income instruments, specializing in high grade, high yield, and distressed securities. He is the Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Further Lane Asset Management, LLC, an investment adviser registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, and the Chief Executive Officer of Further Lane Securities L.P. a registered broker-dealer; and the sole owner and President of Osprey Securities Corp. Michael is also the Managing Partner of the Osprey Opportunity Fund, the Manta Ray Fund, Toro Strategic Income Fund and the Windmill Multi Strategies Fund. From 1988-1997, Michael was a founding partner and member of the Board of Directors of M.J. Whitman Inc., a registered broker-dealer in New York City. As Head Trader and Head of the Private Clients Group at MJ Whitman, Michael supervised the activities of all trading departments. He founded the Distressed, High Yield, High Grade, Private Securities and Real Estate Groups. From 1990 to 1998 Michael was also a founding shareholder of EQSF Advisors, a registered investment adviser and adviser to the Third Avenue Funds. From 1998 to 2001, Michael was the Executive Vice-President and Senior Managing Director of the New York office of Imperial Capital, LLC . At Imperial, he was responsible for the management of over $250 Million of assets of high net worth individuals and worked closely with the management of large institutional accounts. Prior to joining Imperial, Michael was the Senior Managing Director in charge of all fixed-income sales and trading and a member of the Board of Directors at Ladenburg, Thalmann, a registered broker-dealer, in New York City. Michael started his career at Allen and company and Gruntal Securities. Michael is a graduate of Brandeis University and lives in New York City and East Hampton New York with his wife Sandra Ramirez-Araiz. Marc Lowlicht, President-Wealth Management Division
Before joining the Firm, Marc Lowlicht was a Vice President of Investments at A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., acting as the manager of investment managers for high net worth individuals, and assisting clients with sophisticated wealth management solutions. While there, he was awarded the firm’s Retirement Planning Consultant, and Estate & Trust Service Consultant designations. Mr. Lowlicht began his career in 1988 at Drexel Burnham Lambert, working directly under a senior officer marketing his retail division to high net worth individuals. Upon graduating in 1989, Mr. Lowlicht entered Smith Barney as a financial consultant where he developed solid ongoing client relationships (and subsequently their extended families). In 1992, Mr. Lowlicht joined The Dratel Group, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange member firm, where he specialized in managing the investments of high net worth individuals, at the same managing the operations of the Manhattan branch office. While at The Dratel Group, Mr. Lowlicht earned his Certified Financial Planning license. In 1999, Janney Montgomery Scott, LLC acquired Mr. Lowlicht’s portion of The Dratel Group, and recruited him to spearhead their East Hampton branch office. Mr. Lowlicht’s business focus and expertise are in implementing sophisticated wealth management strategies through risk management and understanding client goals and objectives. He has been named one of America's best financial planners by the Consumer's Research Council of America from 2005 to 2008. Mr. Lowlicht has been quoted in numerous business publications including Forbes and Worth Magazine. Marc is also member of Forbes’ Intelligent Investor Panel. Mr. Lowlicht was born in 1967. He received his B.A. degree in Finance from The George Washington University, his CFP® in 1999, and a M.S. in Financial Planning in 2005. He lives in East Hampton, New York with his two daughters. Sandra Ramirez-Araiz, Executive Vice President
Sandra Ramirez-Araiz has 17 years of marketing and sales experience and is in charge of Further Lane’s marketing program. As a partner in Further Lane Asset Management, she partnered with a former SAC manager to start a distressed fund. Before the debacle, at an opportune moment, she closed the fund, giving back the investors their money. Before joining Further Lane, Ms. Ramirez partnered with Nile Rogers, to start RRL Entertainment, a single-purpose investment bank that provided funding to executive producers in the music industry. Ms. Ramirez played a pivotal role in building the business by focusing on product development, market research, and sourcing and negotiating prospective deals. Before RRL, Sandra was senior administrator of the mortgage-backed trading departments at Bear Stearns and UBS. Before coming to Wall Street, Ms. Ramirez held Marketing and Sales positions at Apple Computer, Inc. where she played an essential role in the inception of the Consultants & Developers Group, which became an established sales resource that was later integrated into Apple as the Worldwide Consulting Program. |
